Oregon Peace Trail

A Camino of Peace Along the Oregon Coast

Peace On Earth
by 2030

Inspired by the Historic Oregon Trail

The Oregon Peace Trail is a modern rendition of this historic event focused on creating peace in the world.

It is a 362-mile peace pilgrimage along the beautiful Oregon Coast modeled after the Camino de Santiago in Spain, walked by 500,000 people each year.

Each mile of this epic journey takes one deeper into the experience and practice of peace. Pilgrims return home renewed and equipped with practical tools for fostering peace in their daily lives.

The Peace Game

The Oregon Peace Trail is built upon the Peace Game, a transformative process that empowers individuals to become peacemakers.

  • Involves seven peace practices.
  • Encourages participants to take Peace Actions in their daily lives.
  • Has already inspired thousands of people to take over 85,000 Peace Actions.

Peace Pilgrimage Experience

Follows the classic pilgrimage arc—calling, journey, sacred closing and life integration.

  • Seven peace practices based on the Peace Game framework
  • Peace pilgrimage participation options: day, weekend, week, full four-week.
  • Sacred closing at the World Peace Flame in Ashland

The seven peace practices are curated in an accompanying app to each individuals pilgrimage experience choice.

Connecting Rotary, Creating Peace

The Oregon Peace Trail is uniting the Oregon Rotary Clubs in a collective commitment to create a more peaceful world.

Rotary Clubs sponsor trail segments and are the backbone of the Oregon Peace Trail.

“I am glad that so many Rotarians are becoming involved with the Peace Game. I’m grateful for the wonderful work it is doing to further peace in the world.”
